URGH~

I'm down with flu and throat inflammation... And the doctor told me go back again next week so that he can confirm whether I have a super-duper-ultra sensitive nose... Good grief... Every time I go to a doctor's, some new illness crop up...

And after PE yesterday, I'm having muscle ache around my tummy and rib cage... So I'm trying hard not to laugh or sneeze... And with a flu, the latter action is especially difficult to prevent... Haizz...

My teeth will start chattering when it gets too cold...

Nothing much else to say today...

Ok... I've been neglecting this blog for awhile... Lots of reasons (and even more excuses), but I won't go into that... I'm just glad that the skin's ok again... After all the trouble I went through...

Anyway, watched Titoudao after band today... I must say it's quite different from films and tv shows... As in, in those, all you see is glam and bling, everyone's (who's supposed to be beautiful) beautiful, glamourous, and those that're not supposed to be are still presentable, nice and all... You know, all the way from shoes, clothes, makeup, accessories to wigs... But what I saw in Titoudao was more... Realistic... Practical and convenient even... I'm not sure how to put it into words, but it took me some time to get used to it... After all, this is the first time I watch a stage production... Yeah, never saw any plays, musicals, dances onstage other than those in schools... Kinda sad, but that's the truth... Haha... But after watching, I'm fascinated and won't rule out watching more... Yup...

And I find a need to complain, complain and complain: IT DOESN'T FEEL ONE BIT LIKE HOLIDAY!!! YAARRRGGGGHHHHHH!!!

Saturday, February 17, 2007

Phew! Long time no blog! Haha... 'Cos of some *ahem* problems (my newly-installed firewall basically bprotected me from accessing the internet initially) and also I didn't really have time to go online...

But so much interesting stuff happened since I last blogged... So I shall start from last Saturday!

Saturday, February 10

The first time I participated in Flag Day... And if I can help it, the last... The whole class (who were present that day) alighted at Orchard MRT Station but went in groups or pairs to different parts of Orchard... Me, Germaine and Varruna started at the entrance of the station... But after awhile, we moved inside, standing outside the, erm, doors of the actual MRT 'area'... Then I wandered off to the passage/tunnel linking the station to outside... Yeah... We spent hours there.... Oh man... That day was the first time in my life so many people ignored me or avoided me... There was an area of about 1m of empty space around me the whole time... People would try to walk around me, behind me etc... Most commuters pretty much pretended that I wasn't there... What this lady told me when she dropped coins into my tin can during a particularly horrendous hour summed up everything: "So many people around, but nobody sees you huh"... YYYeeeeesssssssss! I think I'll go nuts if I do this every single day... I know they've been bugged by students wherever they go... But really, they could've declined or just acknowledge my existance with a nod, shake or smile... I wounldn't mind that... But not everone's like that... Some donated when I approached... Others came up to me themselves... Most donated for the charity (though only a few asked what they're donating for) but I've got this weird feeling that a small handful donated 'cos they pitied me... For example, there's this man with greying hair, who's been watching me from quite a distance away since I parked myself at that particular spot, suddenly came up to me after like 45 mins, dropped a handful of coins into the can, smile, patted my shoulder and walked away... Yeah, I was a bit shocked... But somehow felt more encouraged... But it was very, very tiring... so we switched place, to this area outside some high-end 'shops' with a fabulous, big carpark... It was more relaxing, more breezy, less suffocating than the previous location... And less human traffic... But I was worn out so I rooted myself to a spot and didn't walk around... In terms of %, I think more people donated... Maybe 'cos we're the first ones they see... So I was taking it easy when I heard somebody practically scream my name from behind me... I wheeled around-- lo and behold, it was my juniors! Such coincidence, no? A lot more funny stuff happened, but I think if I continue to ramble on, I won't be able to finish this... So moving on--

Sunday, February 11
I checked my inbox and saw the email informing me that I'vr been selected for the CBT of Granado Espada!!! WOOTS!!!

Monday, February 12
For the first time in this 4 years, I was late for school... Technically... 'Cos the bus broke down and we were excused... Fortunately... 测验(一)during the first period, right after I rushed up to class... (**)''' Oh and we went for SYF rehearsal in SCH... Its the first time I saw Miss Sia in a few months and she made me (and the entire section) blow my/our lungs our... But I think we played quite ok... Hui Min gave me a lift home from school and I managed to reach home at about 10... Feeling dead...

Tuesday, February 13
Geog Test (TT)

Wednesday, February 14
Valentine's Day!!! Thanks to everyone who gave me something! You know, I was thinking that nowadays, saying "I don't celebrate Valentine's Day because I love him/her every single day" or something along that line is as cliche as specially taking time to celebrate Valentine's with him/her... Don't know why, but it just is...

Thursday, February 15
EL timed assignment during EL period... And Harmony Test and I missed the final CNY rehearsal...

Friday, February 16
CNY celebrations in school! 4C performed and I'm happy to say many found our skit very funny! Yay! Extra credits to Bao Hui and Wei Ting... They really, really did alot alot alot to make the skit successful... *applause* Anyway, went to pick up the Granado Esapada game client at Hougang Mall with Hui Min after school... Whoopi! Then we went to shop for t-shirts that're not dark-coloured and suits Hui Min's taste... Finally found 2 at Bugis... Very rewarding experience... Haha... Glad she liked them...

And finally, TODAY
Went to the temple at Toa Payoh this morning... Weird how it's so hot outside but so cool inside... Sadly, it also fell to commercialism and one corner which used to house a big fugurine of a deity has been renovated into a shop selling titbits... A pity, really... Considering the temple to be nearly a hundred (or even more)... Had reunion dinner... Same as last year, and the year before that... But quite nice all the same... And I recieved this sweet SMS from an old friend, ex-classmate:
难忘的是你我纯洁的友情,可贵的是永远不变的真情,高兴与你今生有缘,献上我最温馨的祝福,祝你新年愉快
I don't know how many people got this particular SMS, but it sounded sincere, all the more so considering that we haven't really kept close contact for the past few months...

Oh yeah, got an A2 for my O level Chinese... Not exactly happy but it could be worse... So I'm pretty much ok with it...

What a long post! I shall end now--
小女子在此祝贺大家新年快乐,心想事成!
Happy Chinese New Year!

Must've had one whiff too many of ammonia during chem lab lesson today... That odour's still lingering in my nose... Maybe I need to go sniff some perfume... And start sneezing... Urgh... Speak of sensitive nose... Someone, please, warn me to stay away from the test tube containing ammonia gas next time when I unstopper it... Yeah, baka me somehow forgot that the test tube was fuming with pungent ammonia gas when I unstoppered it to wash up... O_o

Anyway, during Amaths test today, Gackt's Redemption kept playing and replaying in my head... Yikes... Very distracting... Especially when I'm trying to make sense of the permutation/combination question... But yet, I miraculously can't remember the tune after that...

And finally, I am soooo not looking forward to Friday... =[

Monday, February 05, 2007

I'm taking my Grade 8 piano practical next year instead of this year... Kinda disappointed, but yeah, gotta admit it, I won't be able to finish everything that's required within 5 months... And I'd rather get a distinction instead of just a pass... Obviously, my parents weren't that happy either... But I'm still taking my theory come March...

Anyway, I just came to know about this MMORPG called Granado Espada, which got me very interested... Pity it's a closed beta test... Didn't stop me from signing up though... Haha...

And finally, do you know that I'm getting back my 'O' level Chinese result this Friday??

And I won't deny that I'm scared...

Very, very scared

EDIT: Playing around with Radioblog, but realised that the music'd be cut off once you navigate away from the intro page... It'll be like that for now... But I'll try to do something about it when I have time...

Oh. My. Gosh.
Today's puppet show for assembly was just so fascinating!! I mean, for someone whose knowledge of puppetry was limited to wayang kulit and those characters at Sesame Street, it was truely an eye-opener... And coincidentially, our music teacher mentioned about marionette yesterday, but to all her students' confusion... Haha...

Speaking of that, I nearly left my entire homework file at St Nicks ytd... Luckily I realised before the school closed... Phew...

Anyway, back to today... Argumentative TA, Chem SPA... All I can say is: yikes

Up next week:
Monday - Bio SPA
Tues - Unseen TA
Wedn - Chem, Amaths
Thurs - Haydn + Listening test

Eeyer... =[

Monday, January 29, 2007

It's downright weird... Ok, maybe not so... More like nostalgic actually...

Picture this--

After Bio remedial, I was walking to the bus stop myself... Halfway through, when I was just outside the the gate of the primary school, lots primary school pupils suddenly spilled out from within the compound... Checked my watch- 3:30-and realised that that's the usual time remedial and CCAs end in primary school...

I walked on, amidst the chatter... Once out of the school gate, some boys immediately dashed for the school bus... Other pupils walked calmly towards it but talked very animatedly ... Others turned and headed for the bus stop... Over the din, I heard, to my utter amusement, the cute, often-used-in-primary-school phrase: "If you make me again you like Tabita!!" I turned and saw two boys pouting at each other...

Haha... That brought back a whole chunk of memories... Adorable, weren't we... Such a scary threat... "If you [name of action] me again, you like/love [name of classmate of the opposite gender]!"

Anyway I walked on... This time, coming from directly behind me: "You don't believe I can run faster than you?" And then without any warning, a whole drove of boys dashed at top speed past me... Quite similar to what memories I had of my primary school fun... Haha...

Then as I approached the traffic lights, a very, very familiar scene loomed in front of me: A girl was chasing a boy around the traffic light post, her water bottle held in one head, ready to strike... After about 2 more rounds, the boy went, "Ok, ok, sorry, won't do again" and walked off gleefully... And the girl? With a "I've won" triumphant look on her face, she spun round and crossed the road... 0OoOps... I saw this kind of scene happening about 4 times a day when I was still in my co-ed primary school... =]

Then I realised that all these stuff happened to me 3 to 5 years ago... So much time passed in the blink of an eye huh...

Tuesday, January 22, 2007

Yay! Finally, my blog is up again!

I only realised that my blog was blank yesterday when I went to check after making the last post... And the worse thing is that I don't even know when it was down... Poh Sin tagged on the 17th so it was ok then... I went to have a look on the 18th and it was still ok... So when did it come down? Hmmm... Oh, and the worst thing is that there's a grand total of 6 people who visited my blog from the 18th till today morning... Urgh... Sorry about that... I didn't have time to fix it yesterday night...

Anyway, I'm not surprised that something like that happened... 'Cos I'm always fiddling around with the template codes and adding stuff that I thought were interesting... Must have accidentally deleted something important in the process...

Speaking of interesting blog add-ons, I had to remove 2 of them 'cos they just don't match the new blogskin... Firstly, this cool digital clock look-a-like that I now have no idea where to get it from and what it's called (but I'll try to find out soon)... Next is the cute cat that used to sit on the top left hand side of my blog and if you click it, it'll follow your mouse no matter where it is... Haha... That one can be gotten from here...

I think that's about all for today... I shan't talk about school, cos like Tanya said, I was pretty dead the whole day... Yup~

Sunday, January 21, 2007

Sunday, January 21, 2007

It was rain and shine (at the same time) on Friday...

Then yesterday, it was basically raining elephants and giraffes when I came home from piano lesson... I was holding an umbrella yet I was wet up till my knees... Grrr...

Today was somewhat dry and cool... But then again, I didn't really step out of the house...

Hopefully, it'd be rain tomorrow... Heehee...

Anyway, I just finished reading a translation of Jihaku [Confessions] by Gackt, translated by Gerald Terrant, here... After realising that more than one of the pple around me find him/his songs great, reading up a bit about him, watching a few MVs on Youtube and listening to some songs on Radioblog, I just had to read his autobiography... Kinda drawn by his eccentric and unpredictable behaviour... And his pretty face... Haha... But anyway, the autobiography is rather readable, and does give some insight to his behaviour and childhood... But will seem absolutely rubbishy to non-fans... [read: I am a fan (^^)v]

Okay, I really should be finishing up with homework now... Hectic week up ahead, complete with tests and extra lessons... Haizz...

One more thing: I'm really missing Get Backers now... (T-T)
